Tanning Accelerator: A Slightly Healthier Alternative to UV

Defined Tag:

Few people haven't heard about the dangers of too much sun and skin cancer these days, and that's one reason that tans via tanning accelerators have become more commonplace. Additionally, many people want a deep tan, but don't want to spend endless hours in the sun to get it; others want tans only for special occasions. All of these are reasons for the growth of tanning accelerator. But there are some things you should learn about these tanning products.

Many of the accelerating products will have a bronzing agent built into
the formula. What this allows you to do is have a hint of tan color
even as you are acquiring your tan. Of course, you will need to make
sure that your skin is cleaned from time to time, so that you do not
experience a buildup of the bronzing compound on your skin. It could
clog pores and cause problems with hair follicles, as well as impede
the process of getting the natural tan as well. The products that are a
combination accelerator and bronzer will have instructions on how to
use the product, as well as how often to wash the product off the skin.

Most of the tanning acceleration products on the market today will include a number of nutrients that are meant to help keep your skin soft and supple to the touch, rather than drying out due to the exposure of your skin to sunlight or to the lamps in tanning beds. While this is a great way to maintain the health of your skin, do not think that it in any way protects your skin from extensive exposure to the sun or the lamps. The idea behind an accelerator is to allow you to tan more quickly using an equitable amount of exposure to natural sunlight or the tanning lamps. Increasing the amount of time you devote to tanning will not help the products to provide you with a golden tan any sooner, but it could mean you increase your chances for damaging your skin.

So the bottom line is that these products enable you to spend less time in the sun to develop a rich tan, so they reduce the risk of dangerous side effects, but by no means eliminate them. Remember, the healthiest skin alternative is to avoid harmful UV rays altogether, or use a strong sunscreen when that's not possible. However, accelerators could be an alternative for those who must have a deep, rich tan!
